High Intensity Focused Ultrasound
The latest non-invasive technology based treatment to address the issue of skin laxity. HIFU delivers precise, focused sound energy penetrating much deeper than lasers or radio frequency. It does this without breaking or damaging the skins surface, resulting in no downtime. The ultrasound waves penetrate the tissue deep beneath the skin, causing friction to generate heat, creating a wound which then sets about repairing itself, “jump starting” the body’s natural process to produce fresh new collagen. Consequently skin tightening and lifting occurs, resulting in a significant lift of tissue over the following 2-3 months, using the body’s own recuperative healing powers to lift and smooth wrinkles.
Tissue laxity is also largely the result of structural weakening of the deeper layers of the skin, HIFU can reach the critical (SMAS) layer which was previously only accessible by a plastic surgeon when performing a surgical face-lift. The SMAS layer is the same layer of tissue that the plastic surgeon will pull tight during the procedure. High Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU) technology can now reach the depth of 4.5mm (SMAS layer) targeting the precise layer where laxity begins. Therefore tightening the underlaying skin, causing an immediate lift.

FAQ’S
Ultrasound has long been used as a diagnostic tool in medicine and is considered safe, effective and precise. It is also now being introduced to aesthetic treatments because it can be focused precisely into the treated area.
Due to the intensity of the treatment just one session is needed, a second treatment may be performed 8 months later if you wish. Some clients may benefit from additional or combined treatments depending on how much laxity their skin has, as well as their body’s own biological response to the ultrasound collagen building process. As the skin continues to age, future touch up treatments can help clients to keep up with the body’s natural ageing process.
The HIFU treatment is safe and generally well received. The degree and nature of any discomfort will vary from person to person, and from area to area. Bony areas such as the brow or jawline are usually more sensitive than other areas.
There might be some small areas of sensitivity after the treatment but this is only temporary.
- Forehead/Eye area £250
- Neck £280
- Lower Face £350
- Forehead/Eye area & Lower Face £450
- Lower Face, Jawline, Under Chin area & Neck £510
- Full Face and Neck £730 (approx 2.5 hours)
The results can be instant. However they will continue to improve up to 12 weeks after the treatment whilst the new collagen continues to be produced.
It is important to remember your skins journey is unique to you
Immediately after the treatment you might experience slight erythema and the skin may look blushed for a few hours after the treatment. Some clients can experience some faint bruising or slight swelling around the jaw area, this is normal and should resolve in 4-7 days. Bruising can easily be covered with make up and should not be a sign for concern.
HIFU is an entirely non-invasive treatment and there is no need for time off work or out of a daily routine. You are able to return to your normal activities immediately.
The ideal candidates for the HIFU treatment are usually between the ages of 35–60, in good health with realistic expectations.
